Thomson Directories Limited has announced
it is to become the first national directory publisher in
the UK to introduce full colour advertising within the classified
section of its Thomson Local directory.
The new colour format will initially be introduced into 39
of its 170 editions of the Thomson Local across the UK offering
advertisers a variety of options from spot colour advertisements
through to full-colour. The first editions to be published
will be directories covering the Alton and Staines areas in
January 2000.
This is the latest move in Thomson Directories programme of
innovation, which has included the introduction of colour
local area guides (at the front of each directory); tabbed
sectional dividers, easier to use formats, and white 'knock
out' classified advertising.
Says Kendall Gordon, Marketing Director, Thomson Directories
Ltd "We are known for our innovation within the marketplace,
and we constantly strive to improve our offering to both advertisers
and users. The introduction of full-colour classified advertising
within our directories provides advertisers with a way of
getting even better stand out and hence response."
Thomson Directories re-vitalised its branding last year with
a re-design of its core brand and associated directory, Internet
and database products, launched through a £4m national
television advertising campaign featuring its new blue cat
brand icon.
