Thomson Directories Limited today announces the formation of a joint venture with Infospace.com (Infospace), a leading aggregator and syndicator of content and one of the world's highly trafficked websites.

The new company will be called TDL Infospace (Europe) Ltd and will distribute tailor-made content packages to other websites, digital tv and mobile phones. The UK will be the first country in which these innovative Internet services will be launched
.
Thomson's directory information and other content will be added to Infospace's aggregated content packages which include local weather forecasts, news and e-commerce merchants. These are co-branded and distributed across some of the most popular sites such as Netscape, AOL and Disney and collectively generate more than 200 million page impressions every month.

website producers will be able to gain access to wealth of content, whilst content owners will be able to build usage through a unique distribution network. Infospace already has 900 affiliate sites.

According to Andrew Fisher, managing director TDL Infospace UK: " Infospace, like ourselves, started on the Internet with directory data and has rapidly grown to be one of the largest online information providers.

"We are already in final negotiations with some of the key online players in this country and are actively seeking partners who can provide complementary content sets and who want to reach a wider audience.

"UK users are about to benefit from the second generation of website development; information rich sites that revolutionise and expand the way that they find and receive content."
