From Sue Ranshaw, Outbound Call Centre Manager, Thomson Directories.

Thomson Directories acknowledges the outcome of the Ofcom investigation into 'short duration' and 'silent calls' and recognises the findings announced today.

The Thomson Directories database is one of the largest business databases in the UK. In order to maintain the accuracy of this data and provide businesses with a free entry in 22 million Thomson Local directories and on www.thomsonlocal.com, its call centre has to make millions of calls a year. In the light of the Ofcom investigation and its findings, the company is pleased to announce that it has already put into place the necessary measures to rectify the situation.
