As part of its ongoing programme of environmental initiatives, Thomson Directories sent its Paper Recycling Bus to schools in Southampton this week. The double decker bus that impressively brandishes the Thomson cat collected over a tonne of paper and took it away to be recycled.

The initiative has proved to be a great success as environmentally conscious schools welcomed the opportunity to highlight the importance of recycling to their pupils. In total the pupils and teachers from the four schools collected enough paper to fill the whole lower deck of the Thomson bus.

Jackie Hewitt, Marketing Communications Manager at Thomson Directories supports the initiative: “The message we are sending out is simple, recycling is important and the more waste that we can re-use the better. The younger generation are definitely more environmentally aware and we were overwhelmed with the response from each school.
