Thomson Directories Ltd (Thomson) is relaunching Business
Search Professional - its CD Rom database of 2.1 million businesses
in the UK - at this year's London International DM Fair.
Companies can cost-effectively produce direct mail labels
and fax shots from the user-friendly CD Rom which now includes
number of employees and fax numbers. Users can also export
data directly into their own databases. There are no minimum
volume requirements and the data is amongst the most comprehensive
and up-to-date business information available in the UK.
In addition to mailing and telemarketing, the data can be
used to scope the size of a target market for research or
sales territory planning, update an existing database or to
save money on Directory Enquiries calls.
The database can be searched by company name, business type
(from 1900 business classifications), number of employees,
location (address, town, county), postcode or a combination
of criteria.
Thomson Directories' business marketing products also include
New Connections, a subscription service offering updates of
new and relocated businesses. This is already used by a wide
range of businesses with an interest in new premises, for
example, accountants, cleaning contractors, stationery suppliers
and recruitment consultants.
Andrew Fisher, Business Ventures Manager at Thomson, says: "Everyone
uses the Thomson Local directory at home but our CD Rom products
are designed specifically with SME business-to-business
direct marketing in mind."
"Our comprehensive and up-to-date business data is now
available to users in a wide range of formats, from conventional
directory to Internet and CD Rom."
