"Thomson Directories own one of the largest business-only databases in the UK and will be co-operating fully in the investigation being conducted by Ofcom into 'Short Duration' and 'silent calls' .
In order to maintain the accuracy of our data and provide businesses with a free entry in our print and online directories, our call centre makes millions of calls a year and is well resourced to undertake this comprehensively and efficiently. In compliance with current data legislation, the Thomson business database is regularly checked against the exemption lists held by the TPS, FPS and CTPS. It would never be our intention to make silent calls to any company, or to contact anyone that has signed up to these services."
