It's official. Cats are smart! This is according to a survey* conducted by Thomson Directories to find out what it is that we particularly like about our cats.
Cat preferrers were in agreement on which attributes made cats smart, with 73% citing their quick-witted nature and 71% commending their ability to communicate with their owners.
Independence and an ability to manipulate their owners into giving them what they want are revealed as particularly smart cat qualities. 94% of those questioned value their pet's independence, and 84% admire their single-minded determination to get what they want!
The blue cat has been the ‘face' of Thomson Directories for 6 years, so these results are good news for the company that publishes Thomson Local directories and the online directory www.thomsonlocal.com.
Comments Rob Love, Marketing Research Manager at Thomson Directories and the person responsible for commissioning the independent survey: “We have long been known for our blue cat which we have recently updated to a blue cat-woman for our latest ‘Lean Fast Smart' TV campaign. We are particularly pleased that these results show the cat symbolising independence, fast moving and, very importantly, smart thinking as we have meticulously planned our directory to help users work ‘Leaner Faster Smarter', making Thomson Local Directories the smart choice for local information.”
