Leading business information supplier Thomson
Directories has launched a printed web address directory, WebFinder,
which is designed to make finding products or services online
simple.
 |
“WebFinder provides
a quick and easy method of connecting buyers and sellers over
the Internet, and lists more than 5,000 useful web addresses
broadly categorised to reflect the most common searches carried
out online,” commented Kendall Gordon,
Marketing and Strategic Development Director of Thomson Directories.
He continued: "With this new directory, we
are trying to minimise the frustrations that can occur when
searching online".
The directory is currently being distributed free of charge
to over 300,000 homes and business in the Central London area.
In an extension of their existing relationship with Thomson,
WebFinder is recommended by the leading UK ISP Freeserve.
WebFinder not only comes with Freeserve endorsement but also
a CD enabling users to sign up for their anytime service –
which is unique for this type of directory.
As part of the launch support for the new directory, WebFinder
is also being distributed in easyInternetcafes in Central
London. A heavyweight in store promotion is currently in place,
which will run for a 4 week period. The synergies between
the WebFinder product proposition and the easyInternetcafe
customer profile make this an ideal vehicle to establish WebFinder
as the Internet directory of choice for a wide audience.
Even though the directory has been in circulation for only
a few weeks, feedback from users and advertisers has been
so positive that a second edition has already been planned
for the end of the year.
WebFinder is also available on-line at WebFinder.com, via
Thomson Directories’ own one stop search engine site
ThomsonLocal.com, and also through Freeserve, AltaVista and
Streetmap.co.uk.
