Thomson Directories will be at this year’s
International Direct Marketing Fair to reveal its latest innovative
addition to Business Search PRO – its CD-ROM database
of over 2 million business listings across the whole of the
UK.
In response to customer demands, Thomson Directories has added
the ability to regularly clean data against the Telephone
and Fax Preference Service (TPS/FPS) to ensure that companies
registered with the preference service are not targeted. Access
to regularly updated information means that customers using
the Business Search PRO will no longer have to worry about
breaking TPS/FPS rules and incurring the legal backlash.
In addition to this function, Thomson Directories has also
added the following features: As well as access to contacts
verified by Thomson Directories, users can now gain access
to named individuals at director level increasing the choice
for targeted mailings leading to greater responsiveness of
potential customers.
In addition to searching via Thomson Directories’ own
database across 1,900 headings, users will now be able to
search across the extensive Standard Industrial Classification
codes offering greater choice to search for the information
needed.
Business Search PRO is a useful direct marketing tool for
SMEs enabling users to execute all types of direct mail campaigns,
from those directed at just one postcode to those that cover
the whole of the country. This additional information will
facilitate even more specific and therefore more successful
direct marketing campaigns, giving users greater freedom of
choice for making target mailings.
"Thomson Directories will also be exhibiting its range
of innovative marketing and business products, including New
Connections and its directory portal site thomweb.co.uk. New
Connections is a unique subscription service providing a monthly
supply of leads for new and relocated businesses across the
UK. As a national service, this often translates into over
7,000 leads every month. In addition, customers will now be
able to access the previous six months worth of data as an
introductory offer.
"We’ll be using the IDM Fair to demonstrate our
expertise in the business database market," commented
Laurence O’Toole, Business Information Manager of Thomson
Directories Ltd. "With our range of electronic direct
marketing products, we are able to offer a cost effective
solution to SME business-to-business direct marketing initiatives,
and by listening to our customers we believe we are giving
them the kind of products and services they need. We anticipate
a very positive response to our enhanced Business Search PRO
product, especially since we will now be one of the few database
providers supplying a regularly checked flow of information
in accordance with TPS/FPS guidelines."
