With time at premium on the run up to Christmas, finding the right restaurant in which to celebrate the festive season can be difficult. According to recent search results on www.thomsonlocal.com an increasing number of people are using the Internet to look for a place to eat. The online directory provider Thomson Directories shows a massive 197% increase over the past three months in the number of people clicking on the free-to-use Restaurant Finder service provided on www.thomsonlocal.com/restaurant.

A purrr-fect choice from Thomson Directories' Smart Kit.

“We all know how difficult it can be to find just the right restaurant to take family and friends to over Christmas, and this is where Restaurant Finder can be of great help,” comments Louise Perry, Internet Product Manager, Thomson Directories. “We have designed this facility to make it quick and easy to locate the restaurants that may be of interest. By including a list of special requirements in the search criteria, such as disabled access and if children are welcome, we hope to reduce the amount of time spent finding just the right place at which to celebrate. These trend results certainly seem to reflect the usability of Restaurant Finder.”

Quick and easy to use, Restaurant Finder does all the hard work for you. First enter the postcode or town for the area you live in, or the area you want to dine in, then select the search criteria. You can either search by cuisine type alone, or for a more advanced search you are able to select a number of options such as the average price of the meal per head, whether there is a no smoking section, or if they have disabled access. All of these options allow you to easily and quickly locate suitable restaurants in the area of your choice.

The search results are listed in distance order with the nearest restaurant to you appearing first. There are links provided for those restaurants that have their own websites, and there is also the option to view a map of the restaurant location.
