Thomson Directories has announced more
upgrades to their pioneering sales and marketing tool, Business
Search PRO On-Line. Launched at the beginning of this year,
BSP On-Line has been evolved from Thomson’s successful
CD ROM, Business Search PRO, to enable users to build their
hit lists and sales campaigns online, using the most up-to-date
data.
Users of BSP On-Line can build lists using a range of options,
starting with a standard search that includes job titles,
type of business and number of employees and then refine using
geographical or financial criteria. Circular searching, unique
to BSP On-Line, allows users to establish, add to and refine
their searches with complete visibility of the results before
they buy data. A major benefit of BSP On-Line is that users
can have previous searches and campaigns automatically updated
with any changes registered to the Thomson Directories database.
Newly introduced to BSP On-Line in September are a Stop List
functionality and broadened Postcode Searching. The Stop List
functionality selects exact matches only and offers the choice
to de-dupe against company name, telephone or fax number.
Designed to be easy to implement, the facility automatically
excludes any matches found. Postcode searching has been refined
with the inclusion of partial rather than full postcodes in
the index.
Describing these enhancements, Business Information Product
Manager Jill Pringle says: “When we introduced BSP On-Line
at the International Direct Marketing Fair, we were awarded
a Showstopper Certificate by DM Business for ‘an outstanding
new product that would push back the boundaries of direct
marketing in 2003’. Our commitment to our customers
is that we will continue to push back those boundaries with
each upgrade, by bringing new features on board to add to
the effectiveness and professionalism of their campaigns.”
