Two local sixth form students have won large cash prizes for submitting design ideas for the colourful opening pages of their Thomson Local Directory. The students battled it out for first place and the chance to shadow top designers at Thomson's' Head Office in Farnborough.
Gregory Coe, a student at The Sixth Form College Farnborough won £500 plus the work experience placement. Coming in close second was fellow student Alan Cruttenden, who picked up £200 and a certificate.
Bill Clark, Faculty Director at the College said: “We have some very talented designers at the college, the work experience placement is an excellent opportunity and it will look great on Gregory's CV.”
The Thomson Local design judges were extremely impressed with the students work, Sarah Davine, Senior Marketing Executive - Products & Pricing said: “It's great to see such enthusiasm from the students and it's a pleasure for us to be able to make awards like the work placement, which are just as valuable as the cash prizes.”
